General Definition of Anionic Bitumen Emulsion SS-1h

Anionic emulsions have several grades depending on its breaking characteristics. This breaking process is predominantly dependent on the evaporation rate of the water in the emulsion. The more higher the water evaporation rate, the more rapid the setting is. Different setting rate is crucial as different application requires different setting rates. Rapid setting emulsions are usually used in surface dressing while slow or medium setting emulsions are usually used for mixtures.

Anionic emulsions carries negative charge, compared to cationic emulsions which carries positive charge. When an anionic emulsion is mixed with a cationic emulsion, a strong bond develop and changing the substance to a solid. This is unfavorable as it cannot be applied to substrates.

Our SS-1h grade anionic bitumen emulsion is a slow setting, anionic, bitumen emulsion. They are further characterized by their ability to remain stable on storage although produced with equipment that generates a wide range of shearing forces. Such characteristics are imparted to the asphalt emulsions through the use of emulsion conditioner compositions comprising a partially desulfonated lugonosulfonate, preferably an anionic or non-ionic emulsifying agent and, optionally, a thickener.

Application of Anionic Bitumen Emulsion SS-1h

SS-1h, a slow setting grade anionic bitumen emulsion has been specifically developed to provide waterproofing in construction application, on concrete and even metal surface. The high flash point and low solvent content make SS-1h an easy to use and safe product. SS-1h can be applied by using a painting brush, squeegee, airless spray and even a roller.

Generally, bitumen emulsions are widely used in highway construction, surfacing and maintenance. They are also used in various other applications where water-repellent surfaces are needed. Slow setting emulsions are grade of emulsions that are sufficiently stable to allow mixing with find or dusty aggregate mineral particles and further processing before setting to a coherent mass. Such grades of bitumen emulsions (SS-1h), when anionic, react chemically with portland cement constituents forming a water insoluble salt and thus possess valuable water resistant characteristics.

Packing of Anionic Emulsion Bitumen SS-1h

For this product, the packing will be in a new thick steel drum on a pallet. We can also provide bulk in bitutainer and tanker.
